Ameren Coronavirus Income Relief Program

As a provider of an essential product to your business and employees, Ameren Missouri is taking the following actions to ensure you have safe reliable power, and hope to limit the economic impact this health event could have on customers:

Ameren has created a new energy assistance program.  In partnership with the United Way of Greater St. Louis, to offer $500,000 in new energy assistance funds for Ameren Missouri electric and gas customers who are experiencing a hardship because of the coronavirus situation.  The Ameren Missouri Coronavirus Income Relief Program was developed to offer income eligible customers $250 toward payment on an active Ameren Missouri account and will be allocated through the United Way. Customers should visit United Way’s 211helps.org/AmerenRelief to complete an online application.

The program is open to Ameren Missouri residential electric and Ameren gas customers.

Program runs March 19 – May 19 (while funds are available). $250 per active account.

Expanded to customers whose annual household income is approximately $30,000 to $60,000 who normally do not qualify for energy assistance and meet the qualifications based on household size and income.

Customers do not have to be past due on their Ameren bill to apply or qualify.

Ameren Missouri is also partnering with Heatupmissouri.org to provide $500,000 in energy assistance funds to customers whose annual household income ranges from $0 to $29,000. This includes elderly and physically disabled individuals, low-to-moderate income families, and individuals with delinquent Ameren bills in Missouri. Customers do not have to be past due on their Ameren bill to apply or qualify. They can visit Heatupmissouri.org or Heatupstlouis.org or call the Heat Up Crisis Hotline during regular business hours at 314.241.0001 or 314.657.1599.

Suspension of disconnects: Effective March 14 and until further notice, we have suspended disconnects for non-payment and forgiving any late payment fees for both our residential and business customers. Normal billing for customers’ usage will continue.

Ameren Missouri will reconnect service for customers whose service was disconnected but whose account is still active in our system, regardless of whether they can catch up on payments or pay the reconnect fee at this time. Customers will still be responsible for payment of reconnection fees and account balance.

Payment Options: Effective March 14 and until further notice, Ameren Missouri is offering residential customers a number of expanded payment options to meet the variety of individual needs you may be experiencing during this pandemic. This includes payment extensions, new payment agreement plans and the flexibility to Pick Your Due Date. We are also offering new payment options for our business customers.

 

Budget Billing Plan. Budget billing takes the average of a customer’s past year’s bills to determine a new monthly bill amount that they’ll pay throughout the year. This makes it easy for them to budget their energy dollars from month to month.

It’s important that every customer considers signing up for an online account, or if they already have one, to ensure their contact information is correct, so that throughout the duration of the pandemic, we can keep them informed of important changes we are making to serve them during these unpredictable times.
